Mandarin Language Speaking Competition

19 January 2011 – In conjunction with the launching of Mandarin Language & Culture Centre (MLCC) on 18 January 2011, Mandarin Language Society (MLS), UMP, organized a Mandarin Language Speaking Competition. The competition was opened to all UMP students who are attending Mandarin for Beginners and Mandarin for Intermediate courses. A preliminary selection was held on 12 January 2011, and only 10 participants were selected to enter the final round. All the participants were given three minutes to talk about their family background. Ahmad Wafi Zaim Khairuddin from the Faculty of Civil Engineering won the first prize in Mandarin Speaking Competition. All the guest of honors was very impressed with the ability of the non-Chinese students to speak in Mandarin.
